Ashbridge and Woods of Ashbridge, a community of colonial and contemporary
style, energy-efficient homes, is nestled in the hills north of Downingtown in Uwchlan Township, Chester County. Ashbridge is convenient to several major roadways, including Routes 100, 202, 30, 113, 401 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, yet retains the character of suburban, country living.
Ashbridge has 124 homes was established in 1981. My family and I moved into Ashbridge on April 4, 1983, as one of the original owners in the neighborhood. We were the third family on Brandham Way, which was still a stone road, as it was not yet paved. The builders, Scott Brothers and Triad Builders, did not have a sample home at the time, so they used our home to show prospective buyers. As it turned out, by opening our home, we were able to meet most of our new neighbors!
I have fond memories of the homes being built around us and the proud new owners I was anxious to welcome. We would have progressive dinners in the winter and block parties in the summer. Most of the children (and there were plenty of them) went to the same schools. Looking back, many of these children became life-long friends.
Pride of Ownership
The pride of ownership in Ashbridge is exceptional. Take a look at the Pictures by Street page on the site and you'll see what I mean. It was, and remains, a wonderful place to raise a family.
This Ashbridge Website Is For You
I've developed this website as a service to those interested in Ashbridge and for those already fortunate enough to be living here. It's a resource that you can come to any time to find information and links helpful to your Ashbridge living experience.
If you own or work in a business that you would like to promote to the neighborhood, please contact me and I'll be happy to add your information to the site, so that we can support one another. If you have a family member that offers lawn cutting, baby-sitting, snow shoveling or other "neighborhood"-type services, I'd like to include that information here as well on the Neighborhood Resources page.
The site will always be a "work in progress". Your suggestions, requests and contributions are encouaged and welcomed.
If I may be of service to you, your family or friends, please let me know. Whether you are looking for a contractor to do a home repair or have a family member across the country who needs to sell their home or make a home purchase, it would be my pleasure to assist.
Thank you for visiting my Ashbridge website!
